What is autoimmune disease health coaching?

Let me throw a scenario out there.

You’re sick. You’re tired. And it’s been this way for days, months – probably years.

And you’re sick of being tired, and tired of being sick.

You’ve gone to so many doctors you’ve lost count – rheumatologists, endocrinologists, GI specialists, family physicians, nutritionists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and even a voodoo witch doctor just for kicks.

You’ve been poked, prodded, scanned and adjusted. You’ve had blood tests, X-rays, MRIs, CT scans. You’ve pooped in a hat, in a bag, and in your hand. You’ve spit into tiny vials. You’ve been cotton swabbed in more places than you’d care to admit.

You’ve been told you’re crazy, that you’re a hypochondriac, that there’s nothing wrong with you.

You’ve been diagnosed, then un-diagnosed, then re-diagnosed, then misdiagnosed. 

You’ve researched for 5 days straight about things you never knew existed. You’ve seriously considered going to medical school at least once. You’re convinced you know more than your doctor does, and are not afraid to bring in your own research to support that claim.

 

Your children “want their mom back.”

Your wife “needs her husband.”

Your boss “needs you to stop taking days off to go to the doctor, and be more efficient at work.”

Your family “just doesn’t understand.”

Your friends say, “But you look just fine.”

 

Sound familiar?

I’ve been there. I know. And now, I want to help you.

 

Autoimmunity is so complex. Some of us get better with typical treatments and protocols. We see others who follow the AIP or paleo diets for 60 days, then reintroduce their beloved soft cheeses and gluten-free bread. We’ve seen our peers find a miraculous healer doctor who helps them get better in what seems like record time.

And still we sit, and we wait for our turn to feel better. Yet that time seems like it will never come.

For some of us, it feels as if we have an extra-strength dose of autoimmunity – like our autoimmune disease morphed into some sort of Wolverine autoimmune disease and it just won’t die. It’s resistant to the most special of diets, the highest quality of 100% pure supplements, and dupes even the most specialized doctors.

 

But why?

Why is nothing working?

 

That’s where I come in. I want to help you figure this out. And I want to help you finally join the ranks of those who finally feel better.

It won’t be easy (nothing good ever is, right?), but I promise you it will work.

But…it will only work if you work.

You must be willing to be unconventional with me. You must be willing to explore your emotions, your past, and your lifestyle. You must be willing to look beyond test results and IV drips and premier supplements and the perfectly managed AIP diet. These help (and as you’ll see throughout the site, I’m an advocate of the AIP diet for healing!), but they’re not the silver bullet – no single “thing” is.

 

Here’s the secret though:

YOU, my friend, are the silver bullet.

YOU hold the key to your own healing, and your own wellbeing. Why? Because we need to heal beneath the surface – and only you can do that.

 

It’s been my experience that some of us (including myself) need to look beyond the physical, beyond a diet-only approach, to truly heal autoimmunity – and only you can do that.

Now don’t get me wrong. Diet and lifestyle are important. And we’re going to work on getting that right together, because we can’t completely neglect the physical. But we’re also going to look at more unconventional things that might be making you sick, like what the body is trying to say to you, what emotional baggage we may need to let go of, negative thought patterns keeping us stuck, and more fun things. 🙂

I’m convinced that healing autoimmunity through an unconventional lens works, because my story IS your story. And this is how I finally stopped the cycle. This is how I finally got better. This is how I finally unleashed my own silver bullet.

This is my process. And, if you’re willing to accept it, it can be your process, too. 

Some may like it. Some may not. Some may want to continue with conventional approaches, and that’s fine. We all heal in different ways, we all have our own path. If diet and supplements alone are enough to get you back on the healing path and they’re working for you, then keep doing that! I mean it. Keep doing what’s right for you.

But if those things aren’t working 100% for you, then take a different route. Try a different approach. You owe it to yourself. To your children. To your husband or wife. Hell, even to your boss. But…mostly to yourself. You deserve to live a long, healthy, happy life. You are WORTHY of living life to the fullest.
